With Anne Beth in Munster

In Münster at the K+K Cup I started with Lisa Müller’s 12-year-old KWPN mare Anne Beth — once I’ve ridden a horse mysel_A0373029f under show conditions, I’m able to judge its reactions better and optimize the training accordingly.

It was an interesting experience since the mare was not only nervous doing the difficult test but she is also super smart, and it’s always good to be prepared for her having ideas of her own (in our case she preferred showing a perfect halt after turning onto the cenbter line in canter instead of the scripted pirouette).

This is good to know when Lisa competes her herself in the future, and that knowledge is worth more than any ribbon — which, I’m happy to report, we got anyway 🙂
